Following the devastating floods in the Calder Valley on Boxing Day 2015, Tom Black Architects were invited by the clubs building management committee to tender for the commission to repair and refurbish the damaged ground floor providing the community with a new hall space for use as a venue for band rehearsals, yoga, Pilates and social events.
In addition to the ground floor, the brief also called for the installation of a new mobility access lift to serve the Trades Club at first floor level.
Tom Black Architects were successful in the bid to secure the work and have subsequently successfully implemented the first phase of work to the Trades club. The commission has also entailed presenting the proposals to the club and the wider community.
